STAMP is the name of the new festival in Hamburg. The initials are to be understood literally: The Street Arts Melting Pot in Northern Germany.
The idea of merging all kinds of Arts, which can be presented on streets, squares and walls within the public space can not be found on many festivals around the world: Small and big artists groups, Clowns and Comedy, Artistry and Fire Arts, Samba, Brass bands and Percussion, Steel bands, World music, small and big scale Street Theatre, international Carnival-, Costume-, Stilt- and Mask Arts, Street Dance, HipHop, Streetart and more.
The organizer of STAMP is the altonale plc., which in 1999 successfully founded the "altonale" a cultural district festival in Hamburg-Altona. Within 12 years it has become one of the most popular events in Northern Germany involving around 500.000 visitors. The altonale plc. is a merger of Altona cultural centers, businesses and agencies which is neither commercial nor profit-oriented and required to reinvest any profits in its own cultural activities.
STAMP consists of an alliance of creative partners: Besides the initiators, the cultural centre HausDrei and the envent agency UBA GmbH there is the non-profit association Buskers Hamburg e.V. (who has been promoting the idea of a buskers festival in Hamburg since 3 years), the HipHop agency Elbcoast Entertainment, the artists collective getting-up and the BWP festival- & event - agency involved in creating the program.
At the Buskers Ville around 20 different artists and groups will circulate on different spots and play for "hat-money", Elbcoast will present first class HipHop-Culture and getting-up will transform parts of the festival area into an open-air arts scene.
